The revolutionary process utilized by Circular Flow creates new products from old neoprene waste; at the end of their life, the products can then be returned for recycling, again, into new ones. This process can be repeated anywhere from five to seven times depending on what is created. For example, it can vastly extend the life of the material used for a yoga mat, instead of it immediately ending up in landfill after a single use. That means a life cycle of over 15 years instead of around just three.
The net carbon reduction is significant, given that we are not extracting finite resources from the earth to remake new from old.

This includes greenhouse gases – CO2-equivalents: carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O), chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), perfluorocarbons (PFCs), sulphur hexafluoride (SF6) and nitrogen trifluoride (NF3)
The data only show savings resulting from the new technology applied:
1 tonne of neoprene waste processed per year (instead of incinerated) x 57.5 kg CO2 = 2300 CO2 avoided.
40 tonnes of neoprene waste processed per year (instead of incinerated) x 2300 kg CO2 = 92 000 CO2 avoided.
100 tonnes of neoprene waste processed per year (instead of incinerated) x 5750 kg CO2 = 230, 000 CO2 avoided.
Estimates of carbon reduction is in line with the envisioned amount of collected waste and the neoprene residuals, remaining from the proprietary manufacturing process. We know there is over 8000 tonnes of wet suits that are potentially recyclable every year finding their way to landfill/Incineration.

To track this benefit, we will be adding unique codes to each and every new product from neoprene waste that we create for our customers and third-party brands. We will also seek to add wherever possible a QR code that will provide a dynamic link to further information on where the item/s can be returned to.
Over time, this will also build up a picture of the total ecological benefit of the Circular Flow service provided.
