Our Events

Here at Circular Flow, we are mission-driven to stop neoprene going to landfill and to spread the word on why and how it should be recycled instead. Knowledge is power!

Our partners and advocates help us to achieve this in many ways, including attending or helping to organise relevant events.

These events are valuable opportunities for us to continue getting the word out about the importance of recycling neoprene sustainably, as well as including wetsuit drop-off points at events – so that all attendees have the chance to get rid of their old neoprene in an effective and eco-conscious way.

If, like us, you want to be part of a greener future and encourage the responsible disposal of end of life neoprene, then we would love to hear from you. You can tell us more about your event by completing this form, and a member of the team will be in touch.

You can also browse the events we have already participated in for inspiration!

We were very pleased to speak at the South Coast & Green Tech Boat Show on Saturday 20 April 2024 at the Ocean Village Marina in Southampton, as we discussed end of life neoprene and how to recycle and reuse it with the smallest possible environmental impact.

Hayling Island Sailing Club’s Youth Race Week ran from the 29th July to 3rd August 2024, with entry open to all sailors under 21 of all skill levels.

Circular Flow also attended, providing drop-off bins at the event to collect end of life wetsuits. We also displayed products made from recycled neoprene via our one of a kind recycling process.

There was also information on hand about our mission to stop neoprene going to landfill, so visitors could learn more about what we do.

Our friends at Stream2Sea offered their products directly from Sandy Point Watersports, so you could stock up on sustainable, non-toxic sunscreens, mask defog, body wash, and haircare during the Race Week.

On Saturday 10th August 2024, Circular Flow was at Rising Tide in Newquay, a grassroots gathering where the very best work from the UK surf community was on show, with a particular focus on sustainability, from the 8th-11th August.

We provided donation bins and collected your end of life neoprene. Plus, we got to know everyone who wanted to hear more about what we do and why it’s so important for our planet, as we work with global innovators to keep neoprene out of landfill and create new products out of waste.

We also showcased some examples of those products, so attendees could see what the end result is like!

Circular Flow were delighted to attend the Sustainable Fashion and Textiles Forum on Tuesday 10th September 2024 at The Alverton Hotel, Truro. This event is funded by the Entrepreneurial Futures project, a £5.6m investment in research, development and innovation (RD&I) activity for businesses based in Cornwall & Isles of Scilly led by the University of Exeter.

In collaboration with the Future Fibres Network+ (FFN+) project, this event brought together industry stakeholders to identify shared challenges, explore collaborative solutions, and foster partnerships for collective action.

Circular Flow joined the afternoon talk sessions with Ramon Van De Velde (CEO of The Wave Project) and Marta Ferri (Business Research & Impact Associate at University of Exeter), discussing the topic of reusing and recycling neoprene.

Through informative talks, interactive workshops, and networking opportunities, the event aimed to inspire and empower businesses to integrate sustainability and ethical practices into their operations, driving positive change across the fashion supply chain.

ZONE3, Circular Flow, and London Marathon Events joined forces to provide an amazing opportunity for recycling old wetsuits and contributing to reducing landfill waste.

Swim Serpentine took place on 14th September 2024, and saw hundreds of swimmers enjoy an open-water swim in the Serpentine lake in London’s Hyde Park. Any attendees could drop off their old neoprene items, from caps to suits, at the Circular Flow recycle point in the ZONE3 tent. As a thank you, anyone who donated received a £50 voucher to use at the event when making purchases over £200.

Circular Flow attended The Southampton International Boat Show (17th September 2024), and took part in the Green Blue Panel Discussion, discussing end of life equipment and gear.

Other panellists included:

  • Sam Penhaul-Smith – Sustainable Cirtech, formerly Sustainable Sailing
  • Paul Honess – Marlow Ropes

We also had some RAW product samples made from recycled neoprene on display, and provided the opportunity for anyone to drop off their end of life neoprene at the collection bins found around the site, which were sponsored by our partner Zhik. This included wetsuits, gloves, boots, and hoods made from neoprene, bioprene, or Yulex.

On 21st September, our partner Simpel held a social event at OUTSIDE Devon to celebrate their first year of trade. This relaxed surf social provided a great chance to connect with the community and share our stories. Along with the Ocean Conservation Trust, we were also a guest speaker at OUTSIDE, talking about our mission to reduce the amount of neoprene that gets burned or disposed of in landfill.

It was a fantastic chance to enjoy the local surf scene, and make sure that as many people as possible connected with our mission.

Circular Flow attended the RYA Dinghy & Watersports Show on the 22nd and 23rd February, speaking with attendees about our mission and providing our end of life neoprene collection bins (thanks to our partnership with ZHIK) for anyone to recycle their old wetsuits or neoprene accessories.

It was so exciting to be part of Circular Valley in Düsseldorf in February 2025.

We were part of Batch 8 of their Circular Economy Accelerator Program. Being chosen meant being recognised as one of the most promising circular economy startups from around the world, so it was a huge honour.

We attended workshops, received individual coaching, and gained access to a network of over 140 industry, science, and policy partners.

The Convention on 12-13 March covered the entire spectrum of the circular economy, bringing together top decision-makers from business, start-ups, science, politics and society.

We met with so many other innovators passionate about sustainability and the circular economy, pitching to an audience keen to hear more about our mission.

We made so many great connections across several industries, and came away brimming with ideas about how we can keep developing as a business, and keep working to solve the major environmental problem of neoprene waste.
