We are thrilled to be scaling the Recycle Your Wetsuit initiative across Europe with Rip Curl, helping extend product lifecycles, reduce waste, and transform used neoprene into new products with Renoprene®.
For decades, neoprene has been essential to surfing and watersports, but it’s notoriously difficult to recycle. Instead of ending up in landfill, these wetsuits are now being given a second life: massive proof that high-performance gear and circular design go hand in hand.
“We are proud to roll out this initiative in Europe, the result of close collaboration between our teams and partners. This project marks a major step forward in our commitment to establishing a circular model for wetsuit recycling, with these first products and an expanded range to come. It also reflects Rip Curl’s determination to accelerate its transition toward a more sustainable economy, in line with our ambitious ESG approach and our B Corp certification.”
– Jonathan Cetran, Head of Products at Rip Curl Europe.
Rip Curl has also released a wetsuit change mat made from Renoprene, with more in development as the programme scales.
They are taking wetsuits and neoprene surf accessories from all brands. Gloves and booties must be submitted in pairs. Users can drop off their wetsuits for free at participating Rip Curl stores or contact customer service at eu.customerservice@ripcurl.com.
We’re excited to be building a future where circularity is the norm, not the exception.
