CURRENTLY 20,000+ TONNES OF NEOPRENE IS GOING TO LANDFILL / INCINERATION ANNUALLY 🤯
Wetsuits and other neoprene products are often underestimated as a source of pollution and landfill waste. However, the exponential growth of the number of people who practice various water sports, coupled with the lack of sustainable collection and recycling systems for this type of products means that the issue is more serious than ever.
Circular Flow calculate that globally, an estimated 8,380 tonnes of wetsuits move to end of life a year. If we add in all other neoprene products this expands to over 20,000 tonnes in total.
We know that the watersports market will be in excess of $2bn in 2022, therefore the problem is getting larger not smaller (source: Technavio market research).
Circular Flow and their advanced recycling process mean a more sustainable future for the wetsuit & neoprene industry.
